Ceilidh

A massive thanks to everyone who came to the JBAO fund raising ceilidh at the Anchor Mill Bowling Club. We managed to raise around £750, a brilliant effort from all those involved.

Special thanks must go to Victoria and Jill for organising the whole event, as well as the 'Gary Blair Ceilidh Band' and 'The Reel Stramash' for supplying the music.

It is safe to say that a brilliant night was had by everyone who attended!

Hopefully we will see you all at the next JBAO ceilidh. Keep checking the website for more information.

Renfrew Gala Day

The Orchestra performed at the Renfrew Gala day on the 5th of June ( photos on photos page) in Robertson Park Renfrew.  This was a successful outing and the weather was good to us. We also had a stall which brought in some much needed funds. Thanks to all the JBAO helpers who set it up and manned it through out the day.

Bowling night 5th June

After the orchestra's performance at Renfrew Gala Day, the members and family were treated to a night out at the 10 pin bowling at Xscape in Renfrew. This was a fun night and let both parents and players the chance to let off some steam and show their bowling skills ( some of which wasn't very evident I have to say !  )

Solo Success in Perth

posted 1 Nov 2010 08:59 by Andrew Kinnear

Several members of the Jimmy Blair Accordion Orchestra recently attended the Sottish Accordion Championships in Perth. Everyone who attended played well, amongst some top class competition from all over Scotland. Victoria Clark, Stuart Swindells, Alexander Young and Andrew Kinnear all put in strong performances throughout the day.

Special mention must go to Jill Patrick who gained a 3rd in the Open Polka Section, aswell as Rebekah Mitchell who gained a 3rd in the Junior Traditional Solo.

It was however young Andrew Grossart who stole the show. Despite being the youngest member of the JBAO in attendence, he managed a 3rd place in the under 12 Classical Solo and an amazing 1st place in the under 12 Traditional Solo. A massive congratulations to Andrew, surely a player to keep an eye on for the future!
